Laser Eye Surgery Now Common Procedure

BBC News (5/19, Roxby) reports that “a whole range of medical procedures rely on lasers, so much so that we don’t even realise we’re being treated using Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER).” BBC News points out that “laser eye surgery (LASIK) to correct vision…has become a common procedure.” Lasers can also be used to “re-shape the lens of the eye.”
