Ouch My Dry Eyes! :(

If you suffer from dry eyes, there are many new therapies available to help.  Dry Eye can be more than just a condition, it can be a syndrome that needs to be treated not only with eyedrops, but systemically by your physician.  Dry eyes can be one of three types, each treated differently, and other conditions that affect the eyes can cause symptoms of dryness yet are treated differently than if the problem was dry eye alone.  A common condition that can masquerade as dry eye is called Meibomitis, or Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.  You should set up an appointment with your optometrist or ophthalmologist so the cause of the dryness can be revealed and appropriate therapy instituted.  Click here to read about conditions of the eye that lead to dryness.

  1. I agree that dry eyes cannot be treated by eye drops alone. Eye drops may be effective in getting the redness and dryness out but, according to some eye doctors, too much use of eye drops can lead to some dizziness and allergic reaction.

Dry eyes syndrome after Lasik surgery can be treated using prescription tears but some post-surgery incidence of dry eyes cannot be mitigated by eye drops or artificial tears, rather, it can cause undesirable visual outcome.

In case you’re looking for an eye doctor, you can check this website that I came across about optometrist Indianapolis IN. You might find these Indianapolis eye doctors helpful as I did.
