Demand For Lasik Operations Continues To Slide.

The AP (4/5) reported that LCA-Vision, Inc., a company that operates laser vision correction centers, “said demand continued to slide in the fiscal first quarter, as it performed 31.6 percent fewer Lasik procedures than it did a year ago.” According to the company, the 19,066 procedures performed in the quarter ending March 31 were “down from 27,859 a year ago.” The company, which has closed some centers over the past 12 months, continues to be affected by the struggling economy, the AP noted.
